The Porath Group is still family-owned and is managed by Nadine Ruelfs. At the beginning of the 1970s, we were active in the automotive industry in addition to steel construction and were also a supplier of tillage equipment manufactured as welded constructions for agricultural machinery. This developed into the plant and mechanical engineering division, where we managed projects for Thyssen Industrietechnik and Schwelm Anlagenbau. For example, water treatment plants and ship loading systems were designed, in which pneumatic and hydraulic controls were also used.
In 1993, we acquired a stake in POMA GmbH, which manufactures conveyor technology for hot and bulk goods, and Optus GmbH, which is active in the field of loading systems; loading systems are produced for ship, rail and road. This created a market for custom-made products, which are handled by both companies via Stahlbau Porath GmbH & Co KG.
Our qualified personnel and our production techniques are the prerequisite for being able to cover the field of lifting and vacuum technology – from planning and production through to service. Hebetechnik Porath GmbH & Co KG was founded for this line of business.
Our company currently employs around 35 people. The production capacity for medium-weight steel structures is currently around 100 tons per month. Some of our installation work is carried out by specialized installation companies with whom we have been working for many years. Our commercial department is equipped with modern IT systems and our technical office is able to produce all the necessary static calculations and construction drawings using CAD in 2D and 3D. As a welding company, we are licensed by the SLV Duisburg to weld steel structures in accordance with the “major certificate of suitability” as per DIN 18800-7. SCC* certified by DEKRA.
